Project Highlights: A Peek at Our Recent Designs

Whether indoors or outdoors, we create custom shade and upholstery solutions for any space. It’s always exciting to complete a project for a client and see how our installation improves the functionality of their home, which is why we’re sharing the results from some of our recent projects. Take a peek at a couple of our latest installs in the Santa Barbara area.

Durable Drapery with Custom Tracks

With its gorgeous wall-to-wall windows, this ocean-facing home is flooded with natural sunlight during the day. However, even with a view like this, sometimes you need a little less light or a little more privacy. This home has the unique feature of angled walls, which can make drapery more challenging since a typical straight rod won’t work. Our solution: custom drapery tracks! Our team was able to bend the tracks on-site at the client’s home to ensure a proper fit and smooth glide of the floor-to-ceiling drapes.

Due to the high sun exposure these drapes will face, we selected a material that’s both durable and stylish. The open-weave fabric is made of a synthetic polyester fiber blend designed to withstand the intense rays of the sun year after year. Not only will these drapes stand the test of time, but we think the slightly sheer, textured fabric looks so elegant with the sunlight filtering through, beautifully complementing the clean, modern feel of this home.

Remote-Controlled Shade for a Backyard Paradise

This backyard oasis was only missing one thing—a bit more shade from the setting sun. We solved the problem with a remote-controlled Domina retractable awning. When closed, the cassette box is nearly indistinguishable from the deck structure it’s secured to. We intentionally chose the color to match our client’s home and be unobtrusive when not in use. In addition, the navy blue shade fabric was selected specifically to match the homeowner’s patio furniture cushions for a cohesive look. Best of all, when the wind picks up over 25 MPH, this awning automatically closes itself to avoid any mishaps.
